Hey guys and gals... My name's John Wheeler.

I've spent my life working in professional audio and video engineering and production at recording studios, TV stations, and on network TV shows.

I now head a company named "Penteo" (http://www.penteosurround.com). We professionally convert recordings and live television shows into 5.1 surround from stereo. It can now be heard on several major motion picture soundtracks including "Watchmen" and Quentin Tarnantino's upcoming "Inglourious Basterds".

I get bored easily. I've spent a lot of my life working in studios and behind computers, so when I can, I like to work in the field for fun: two years as a sound guy on the COPS TV show chasing bad guys with a microphone, and then 8 years working in the field for NBC News running a live news production truck all over California at fires, floods, shootings, earthquakes, explosions, toxic gas releases, trials, kidnappings, overturned trucks, olympic torch runs, olympic qualifying trials, um, yeah like that.

I live in the San Francisco area, so there are a LOT of street festivals and fun crowds to go play in. You'll find photos of a lot of them here.

And then there's just random iPhone shots from whatever, whenever.
